Have you ever dreamed of seeing an elephant up close in their nature environment? Well if so, Botswana Africa is the place to go.

In November 2022, I had the incredible opportunity to spend 4 nights on the Chobe River on a river boat. It was one of the most incredible trips I have done. Each day we would take small boats called skifts to get a more up close & personal experience with the wildlife. There are literally thousands of elephants in the Chobe National Park of Botswana. We would shut the engines off on the skift and drift into the shore. We would sit quiet and still until the elephants knew we were not a threat to them. Observing them in their natural environment is a dream come true for me.

The entire experience of the 4 nights on the Chobe River was one I will not forget. As I laid in my bed on the boat at night, I could hear the hippos grunting in the water. There were always several hippos around the boat. It is amazing to see all the hippos as we sailed along the river.

My Chobe River experience was with AMA Waterways on their river boat called the Zambezi Queen. I highly recommend this trip for anyone wanting to see hundreds of wildlife in their natural environment. I saw elephants, hippos, giraffes, lions, zebra, crocodiles, gazelles, impalas, and many species of birds.
